    1.   Water is the only thing that fights dehydration. Dehydration is a situation where the body does not have enough water for the purpose of supporting the vital organs of the body.

    2.   Water is an important component for the perfect functioning of the body. More 60% of the body mass constitutes water, including the cells, organs, skin and the body tissues.

    3.   Water helps to eliminate harmful toxins and waste products that are not needed by the body.

    4.   Water is needed in order to process the nutrients that come from foods that we eat. Water helps to transport the nutrients through the lymphatic system.

   5.   Not drinking enough water can lead to constipation, allergy and migraine.

    6.   Water is lost daily through perspiration, urine and the movements of bowel. As such, it is imperative to refill the body by drinking water. It is also advised to eat fruits that have lots of water like water melon, orange and pineapple.

    7.   Due to the importance of water, it has been recommended that the daily intake of water by men from the age of 19 should be about 3 litres; while women between 19 and 50 years, should drink about 2.3 litres of water

The skin like other organs requires enough water in order to function properly. Here are some of the benefits of water to the skin:

  Ø Water is very important for the maintenance of the skin moisture. Water helps to deliver essential nutrients to the cells of the skin. Water also helps to replenish the tissues of the skin and increases the elasticity of the skin.

  Ø Water assists the body to delay ageing by not allowing wrinkles to appear on the skin.

  Ø The muscle constitutes of 75% of water. As such, it is very essential to drink enough water for the muscles to function effectively.

  Ø The brain also needs water to perform to its optimum. If water is not supplied to the brain, it makes the body to swell. Swollen legs and hands may be a sign of inadequate water to the brain.

  Ø Water assists digestion and makes the kidney to function well.

  Ø Water helps you to lose weight.
