The benefit of physical fitness far outweighs the inconveniences associated with regular exercise.  In order to reap the full benefits of physical fitness, the fitness program must include all the five major components of physical fitness. These health related fitness components are: Flexibility, muscle strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance and agility.
Physical fitness is regarded as a measure of the body’s ability to function very efficiently and effectively both in work and leisure activities.

Physical fitness can be achieved through the following:
  •      Physical activity and exercise
  •      Proper nutrition
  •      Enough rest through quality sleep
  •      Stress management and relaxation

The benefits of physical fitness are numerous. Here, we will enumerate the benefits of physical fitness.

Benefit of physical fitness #1: Provides better health
Regular physical exercise helps to increase the strength and size of your heart. It helps to pump more blood without much effort. It improves the circulatory system, which helps to increase blood volume; and in turn provides more oxygen to the muscles.

Benefit of physical fitness #2: Lowers cholesterol level
The benefit of physical exercise extends to helping to control your cholesterol level. With physical activity, bad cholesterol can be reduced and good cholesterol can be increased.

Benefit of physical fitness #3: Reduces the risk of diseases
Engaging in regular physical exercise can decrease the risk of developing diabetes, metabolic syndrome and lung cancer.

Benefit of physical fitness #4: Development of physical fitness components
Physical fitness development components such as flexibility, agility, speed, bone density, strength and endurance are improved through physical exercise. It also helps to tone the muscle.

Engaging in physical activities can help to strengthen your bones and muscles. It reduces the risk of arthritis and other bone related diseases.

Another benefit of physical fitness is that it helps you to have sound sleep and improves sleeping pattern. Studies have shown that people who are physically fit, fall asleep easily and sleep longer than those who do not engage in any form of exercise.

Physical exercise helps to improve the blood flow in the body and also promotes better sleep; which in turn boost your energy level. Morning exercise in particular, gives you energy and drive for the rest of the day.

Physical exercise helps to build muscle mass and burn excess fat. It also helps to tone the muscles; thereby making you look fit and healthy.

Physical exercise helps to improve your mood. It also helps to increase blood flow to the brain; which in turn helps to release endorphins that help to lift your mood.
